Area rug care & maintenance
Even if you don’t have a lot of spare time, there are some quick and easy tasks that will do wonders to protect the look and longevity of your area rug. For instance, preventative maintenance will go a long way to keep your rug looking as good as new for years to come.

Preventative maintenance
Preventative maintenance will keep your rug looking and feeling great for years to come. Start by making sure family members and guests remove their shoes before entering your home & walking across your rugs. You may also consider getting doormats to trap dirt in advance. You should regularly vacuum your area rugs to remove all of the dirt, dust, and allergens that can get embedded in the fibers. We also recommend occasional professional cleaning or shampooing of your rugs. Never dry clean or use bleach on any rug!
Dealing with a spill or stain
No matter how careful you are, your area rug will probably fall victim to stains or spills, especially if you have kids or pets. Fortunately, many of our area rugs are sold with stain-resistant technology, which makes it easy to deal with stains!
Before cleaning up any mess, establish whether it's an oil- or water-based stain. Then, consult your rug manufacturer's care guidelines. Some stains will wipe away with a simple cloth while others will require a more comprehensive approach involving cleaning solutions.
